Youth Showcase Concert
Introducing Canada’s First-Ever
Virtual Music Festival for Youth
Founded in 2019,
Senaida Ng established the Youth Showcase Concert Series with
the goal of
creating a platform to provide more performance opportunities
for emerging local youth
musicians after being denied the opportunity to play in local
bars due to age-limit requirements.
This year’s Kickoff Concert will take place on August 1st,
featuring international headliners for the very first time,
Juniper from Massachusetts and The Groovin Souls all the way
from Costa Brava, Spain.
Reaching 300 people in its inaugural year, the Youth Showcase
Concert Series is not letting the
COVID-19 pandemic set it back. Once again, it will feature
rappers and bands performing a variety of musical genres–just
this year, on a virtual platform.
Each week’s concert will comprise of a compilation of
15-minute recordings of each
artist’s performance set. Embracing the virtual nature of this
year’s showcase, performers will
also participate in other live events, including Instagram
On the last day of this year’s concert series, a donation will
be made on behalf of the Youth Showcase Concert to the NIA
Centre for the Arts, a Toronto not-for-profit organization
that provides resources and spaces for artists from the
African diaspora. Donations will be collected through our
website where $1 = 1 vote for the favourite performance of the
Youth Showcase Concert lineup.
The Youth Showcase Concert Series will take place every
Saturday in August
through Youth Showcase Concert’s website, www.youthshowcaseconcert.com
and their social media platforms.
