In 2020, we will mark the 75th anniversary of Béla Bartók's death. To commemorate the work of this great 20th century composer, the Kindred Spirits Orchestra will be presenting his Concerto for orchestra in May and his most popular Piano concerto No. 3 featuring Mary Kenedi in February.

Although not penned for specific persons or those of the past, Bruch’s In Memoriam is a one-movement heartfelt lament for solo violin and orchestra. Hungarian-Canadian pianist Mary Kenedi masterfully interprets Bartók’s Piano Concert No. 3: a piece written during the final few months of the composer’s life as a birthday gift for his wife. After a seventeen-year compositional drought, Rachmaninoff’s final Symphony No. 3 harkens lush tones of the past Romantic era.

The upcoming concert on February 8 also includes Bruch's In Memoriam featuring Nakwon Choi.
